Screw Sleeve
WHAT
The task was to rivet a screw sleeve to the double pipe clamp in accordance with the specified technical requirements for later use as fastener. The requirements were for one a high process reliability, a reduction in the NOK rate and repeatability retain retaining the inner diameter of the sleeve.
WHY
This double pipe clamp is designed to secure two cables to the vehicle’s underbody and is mounted using a centrally positioned screw that passes through the riveted sleeve. The customer wanted to reduce the NOK quota and prevent any unwanted deformations caused by the forming process.
HOW
To ensure proper assembly, the 6.5 mm diameter must be preserved to ensure that the screw can be inserted properly. The new process-reliable method has been developed by the BalTec Sales Office in Southern Germany in collaboration with the Technology Center in Switzerland. The radial riveted component ultimately convinced the end customer to equip its new series system with BalTec equipment.
