WHAT
The pulley shells and components are to be riveted together using stainless steel rivets to ensure a reliable process. High demands are placed on material quality and processing precision to guarantee flawless, durable, and reliable operation.
Due to the combination of the plastic housing and the stainless steel rivet, precisely adjusting the required rivet strength is a key process criterion. Only in this way can a permanently stable and robust connection be guaranteed.

WHY
Pulleys in shipping are exposed to high mechanical loads and demanding weather conditions daily. This applies regardless of whether it is a heavy-duty block, a mainsheet block, or a boom vang.
The movement of the pulley must not be impaired in any way by the joining process. Therefore, the riveting machine must be designed so that different roll sizes can be processed on a single machine type with minimal setup time. This increases flexibility and efficiency in production.

HOW
Extensive test series allowed us to define the optimal tool geometries and the required forming parameters. A proportional valve enables component-specific programming of the riveting forces. This prevents incorrect settings during component changes and ensures consistently high process reliability.
